Biography
Cnut conquered England 1016, then Denmark 1018, Norway 1028, the North Sea empire. The tide demonstration, commanding the sea to show kings limits, chronicler Henry of Huntingdon, possibly pious rather than proud. The laws, the church, Rome pilgrimage 1027, Emma of Normandy marriage. His empire broke at his death, the sons died quickly, but Danish England prepared 1066, the Norman Conquest completing what Cnut began.
