Biography

Client king under Rome, Herod rebuilt the Second Temple, the Western Wall remnant, Caesarea Maritima, Masada. The Massacre of the Innocents of Matthew, historicity debated, fits his paranoia, he killed three of his own sons, Caesar quipped better his pig than his son, kosher taboo joke. He died horribly, worms per Josephus. The Herodium tomb discovered 2007, Ehud Netzer, the builder tyrant of the nativity story.
