Biography
Second Qing emperor, Kangxi took personal rule at 14, defeated the Three Feudatories revolt, took Taiwan from the Zheng, checked Russia at Nerchinsk, the first Chinese treaty as equal with Europe. He patronized the Kangxi Dictionary, sponsored Jesuit science at court. Six southern tours, granary system, the 61 year reign, the longest verified, brought prosperity, the High Qing beginning.
