Hadrian abandoned Trajan conquests, fixed defensible borders, the Wall in Britain, 73 miles, still standing. He traveled the empire for half his reign, Athens benefactor, his beloved Antinous drowned in the Nile, deified, city founded. The Pantheon rebuilt in its surviving dome form. He suppressed the Bar Kokhba revolt brutally, Judea renamed Palestine. A scholar emperor of Greek culture in Roman power.
