Henry V of England
Biography
Henry renewed the Hundred Years War and won a famous victory over a much larger French army at Agincourt in 1415, largely through his longbowmen. He went on to conquer Normandy. The Treaty of Troyes in 1420 made him heir to the French throne, and he married Catherine of Valois. He died of illness in 1422, aged thirty five, leaving a baby son, Henry VI. Shakespeare made him a national hero.
